Premium Protection
The Pelican Carbon Series Whole House Filter uses a 4-stage filtration process to remove sediment, filter chemicals and contaminants, and prevent bacterial growth. Our UV system destroys 99.9% of microorganisms to safeguard against boil water alerts without affecting the taste or odor of water.

Stage 1: 5-Micron Pre-Filter System
Stage 1: 5-Micron Pre-Filter System: Reduces sand, silt, sediment, and debris in the water down to 5 micron in size.

Stages 2 & 3: Granular Activated Carbon Media
A high-grade activated catalytic carbon filters chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, industrial solvents, and hundreds of other chemicals and contaminants.

Stage 4: Pelican Media Guard
Our bacteriostatic copper-zinc reduction oxidation media prevents and reduces bacteria and algae growth.

UV System
Destroys 99.9% of pathogens and harmful microorganisms to safeguard against boil water alerts without affecting the taste or odor of water.

Eco Friendly
The system filters water at the point-of-entry to the home with zero wasted water, drainage, or chemical discharge. That means you're choosing sustainability for your home and the environment. No electricity is required to operate the system, which further reduces your ecological footprint.
Wallet Friendly
Our Pelican Whole House Water Filter systems come ready to install, so you don't need to hassle with an expensive installation process or costly long-term maintenance. The carbon filtration media has a 600,000-gal./5-year capacity and can be easily replaced at a fraction of the cost of the competition.
Potential Health Risks of Chlorinated Water and Chloramine
Research suggests asthma can be triggered by exposure to chlorinated water and furthermore, chlorine is associated with outbreaks of dermatitis. In a study of 46 communities in central Wisconsin where chlorine levels in water ranged from 0.2 to 1 mg/liter, higher chlorinated water levels were associated with higher serum cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein levels. Researchers theorized that chlorine and calcium in drinking-water may interact in a manner that affects lipid levels. A population-based, case-control study of adults exposed or not exposed to chlorinated water long-term (over the course of half a lifetime), found an increased risk of bladder cancer in individuals who drank chlorinated water compared to those who did not.
Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia and not as effective a disinfectant as chlorine alone. Chloramine exists as three different forms: monochloramine, dichloramine, and trichloramine. While all three are respiratory irritants, trichloramine is the most toxic. Chloraminated vapor from showers, baths, hot tubs, dishwashers, and other household appliances contains volatilized chemicals. Upon inhalation, this can cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Long-term chloramine exposure is also associated with health issues impacting the skin, digestive/gastric tract, kidneys, and blood.
Benefits of Using A Whole House Water Filter
- Reduce chlorine, chloramines, and other potentially dangerous disinfectants as soon as they enter the home's plumbing system
- Provide cleaner, filtered water from every water source in the house
- Remove sediment and major contaminants from the water
- Extend the life of water-using appliances such as hot water tanks, washing machines, dishwashers, and coffeepots, because the water entering these appliances is contaminant-free
UV light penetrates and permanently alters the DNA of microorganisms in a process called thymine dimerization, rendering them inactive and unable to reproduce or spread infection. UV light alone does not eliminate contaminants in water such as chlorine, heavy metals, and VOC.s (volatile organic compounds). VOCs are toxic, manmade chemicals that leach into ground water when products such as paints, petroleum products, and refrigerants are manufactured. That.s why it is important to combine whole house water filters with UV protection.
In addition to all the wonderful benefits listed above, adding UV protection to your whole house water filter system provides the following additional protection/benefits
- Kills bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens by preventing them from reproducing
- Destroys up to 99.9% of harmful microorganisms including: E. coli, cryptosporidium, and giardia
- Eliminates the hepatitis virus, which is highly resistant to chlorine treated water
- Prevents the need to adhere to local boil water alerts
