Damaging Effects of Chlorine |
|
So many people in the world today have no idea the damage caused by chlorine, chloramines and other disinfection by-products in their water to their hair and skin. One of the most important things we can do is protect ourselves from the damaging effects caused by these chemicals.
Chemicals in your water can cause skin and hair to become dry, itchy and damage your hair - stripping its natural oils leaving it dry, brittle and hard to manage. Not to mention that chemicals in your water can vaporize when your water heats up in the shower, allowing them to be inhaled with every breath.
"People who care about the damaging
effects of chlorine, choose Pelican!"

So convenient!
I have been using counter top pitcher type filters for years. I use the purified water primarily for drinking water, coffee and espresso. I got tired of constantly having to fill the pitchers, change the filters and watch as they grew mildew and algae. I heard about Pelican on Hannity and decided to check it out. To my surprise it was as cheap or even cheaper than the pitcher type filters I had been using. I have only had the Pelican system for a few weeks, but I already love this thing. It was incredibly easy to install and it is so much more convenient than anything else I have used. At this point I don't ever see myself going back.

Functional and Stylish
My third unit. Fits well in the bathroom sink. Never brush teeth or put city water in mouth.
Pelican is a good unit. Third means that filters usually cost more than a new unit on sale. Pelican - you can do much better. We need you.
One unit the switch over valve broke (after two years use) I was unable to connect effectively with service to get a simple valve - when I did connect the component price was high. Again better to wait and purchase a new unit on sale.
Coming back to Pelican is an indication of their product performance. However the company would be excellent if their service corporate and service matched this level.

Good tasting water
After being frustrated with the Fossett hooking up the opposite of what they said it would I even called customer service I figured it out myself but had to go to supply place for extra part to hook it up. The battery they sent me with it was dead so after I got all that done the water did taste good I am relieved it’s set up through my sink and overall I am satisfied with the quality of it. it would be good in the future if they inform people that the connections to the faucet could go clockwise or counterclockwise mine went counterclockwise for whatever reason it was flipped but I’m glad I figured it out.

Love this water filter!
Not only does it make great tasting water, but also it looks very pretty on my countertop. It was very easy to install, and I'm very happy with it. I also love to see the little light blink telling me the filter is fresh and working and how it turns colors when it's time to change the filter. I'm happy I signed up for the automatic replacement filters every six months for filters - got a nice price break doing that, and I don't have to worry about ordering them when the light indicates it's time. I'll already have them on hand. Very happy with this water filter and with Pelican. They've built a great reputation over the years, and I trust them.

Faucet adapter trouble
I was pretty excited to use this product for my kitchen sink in my rental property, but I was disappointed that none of the faucet adapters did not fit the faucet. We went to a few hardware stores such as Home Depo, ACE hardware, Lowes, but none of the stores had the same size faucet adapter to fit the filter system. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use this. Beware the size of the sink faucet and make sure it’ll fit the adapter.

I like this countertop filter system because it was easy to set up & the faucet connector is not bulky & intrusive like some other water filters. It removes chloramine from city water, which is the main reason I bought it. It does have a very slow drip, which the directions claim should stop, but after a week of use, it still drips.

Indicator light not working
All in all we are pleased with it so far. However, right away we noticed the battery operated indicator light dies not work, even with putting in a new one. The instructions have a poor photo with what side to put it in and there was no plastic tab to pull out as indicated in the manual. The customer service rep did not seemed concerned and said it is only to remind us to change the filter. My opinion is we paid for a brand new item so nothing should be wrong with it right out of the box.

Great product! Looks really clean on my counter and was really easy to install. Gives me easier access to filtered water for cooking, cleaning, and drinking and there's definitely a big difference in the taste.

Another question about the countertop drinking water system. If mounted under the sink, could the hoses come up through the hole of the sprayer arm that I now have?
Asked by: Darlene
If you purchase the undersink version the hoses come out the center of the faucet. They would need their own hole for the faucet the system comes with. The countertop model cannot be mounted under the sink without the faucet kit.

I have questions about the countertop drinking water filter system. How does it connect? What about the hoses-- do they just lay on top? What about the current faucet?
I would like a CLOSE-UP VIEW of this countertop system hooked up.

Hello Raymund,
Yes we do. It uses the same filters as this model but comes with a mounting bracket and faucet so you can install it under your sink. You can find that product here: https://www.pelicanwater.com/undercounter-drinking-filter.php

Q. Can this be used with an ice maker or fridge? |
Due to the dual filter design and the requirement of an open relief faucet this system cannot be connected to a fridge or ice maker. |
Q. Will this system filter out fluoride? |
While carbon block is known to help reduce fluoride, this system is not tested for its removal. We recommend looking at a Reverse Osmosis system for fluoride removal. |
Q. Can this be installed under the counter? |
Yes you can purchase this system in an under-counter model or if you already have our countertop model you can purchase an under-counter conversion kit. |
Q. How often should I change the filters? |
The Pelican premium drinking system comes with a built in LED indicator that will remind you when to change your filters. For peak performance we recommend you change your filters no later than 6 months after installation or after 450 gallons of usage, which ever comes first. Never worry about when to change your filters again by signing up for our Water Shield Auto Ship program. |
Q. Does this system require electricity? |
No. The Pelican premium drinking system requires no electricity to filter your water and does not waste any water. It simply uses the incoming water pressure from your water supply to filter your water through a dual-filter carbon block technology.
|
Q. How does the indicater light work? |
Upon inital installation the LED will blink green 10 times within 10 seconds to indicate the system is ready. The light will then blink every minute to indicate the filter life is still good. After 5 months, the light will blink every 30 seconds yellow indicating its time to order replacement filters before the filter life runs out. Once 6 months has past the light will blink red every 10 seconds reminding you to change your filters.
|
Q. Will this work with a pull down faucet? |
All faucet mounted filters require either male or female threaded faucet ends in order to be installed. If you do have a pull down faucet you can purchase our under-sink installation conversion kit which will allow you to install this at your sink with a seperate filtered water faucet.
