Why you should think again about bottled water

We have all had water in a bottle before. Its convenient, great for people on the go and horrible for our environment.  Not only does each bottle cost you thousands of dollars every year, the pollution that goes into making each plastic bottle is also bad for our environment.

We’ve always been told water is the building block of life. Water is more than just important to survival, it’s also a very limited resource. “But our planet is covered in water”. Most of us think of planet earth as rich with water and that is true, but not drinkable water. Only 2.59% of the water on earth is drinkable and most of that is locked in ice caps and glaciers. That leaves only about .59% of the earths water from lakes, groundwater and rivers that is drinkable.

What does all that mean for you and I? That means we must take care of our water ways and protect against contamination. We need to drink more water too but think about whats in the water you are drinking and lets discuss just how much of your body uses that water.

Did you know that most bottled water is really tap water that has gone through some filtration? Check out this info graphic that explains what really happens with bottled water and remember you can bottle your own water at home with a Pelican Whole House Carbon Filter.
