Pelican Water System Featured on This Old House

Pelican Water Systems, the market leader in affordable and environmentally friendly water filtration systems, was featured on a recent episode of “ This Old House,” the second half of “The This Old House Hour.”

In episode #1521, entitled “Water Filter; Fire Pit; Wood,” Richard Trethewey assists a homeowner whose drinking water tastes “low tide-y” and has a peculiar smell. Richard’s long-term solution for the homeowner is to install Pelican Water’s trusted Carbon Series Whole House Filter System. After a quick installation cleaner, great-tasting water was delivered to every tap in the home.

According to the show’s website, the whole house filter significantly “improves the taste and odor” of municipal drinking water. The whole house filter treats your water in multiple ways – the sediment filter reduces debris, sand, and sediment down to 5 micron in size; the carbon filter removes 99% or more of chlorine, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and hundreds of other chemicals; the UV system destroys 99.9% of pathogens and harmful microorganisms.

The episode originally aired April 27 on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS); check your local listings for future broadcast dates. To see our NSF-certified whole house filter in action, you can check out the full clip below.

Pelican Water Systems thanks the cast and crew of “This Old House” for featuring our product on their recent episode. Tune in to PBS to catch future episodes of “This Old House Hour.”

Pelican Water filter systems are the industry standard in home water filtration because we design products that are eco-friendly and wallet-friendly. The whole house filter used on the show filters water at the point-of-entry with zero wasted water, drainage, or chemical discharge. No electricity is required to operate the system, which further reduces your ecological footprint.

The filter system comes ready to install, and there is no costly long-term maintenance. The carbon filtration media has a 600,000-gal. /5-year capacity and can be easily replaced at a fraction of the cost of the competition.
