Fire up Your Weight Loss Program with Sassy Water

Drinking adequate amounts of tasty, filtered water is an important part of any weight loss or exercise program. Drinking sufficient water to stay hydrated helps keep you mentally and physically alert, improves digestion, and helps your liver and kidneys filter toxins. If you need a little help on your quest to lose those extra pounds, consider drinking Sassy water.

Named after its creator nutritionist Cynthia Sass, Sassy water is an infused drink that reduces bloating and in combination with moderate physical exercise, helps burn body fat. The recipe itself is simple and quick to mix up using Pelican filtered water:

    • 8 glasses filtered water
    • 1 teaspoon grated ginger root
    • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced
    • 1 medium lemon, sliced
    • 12 fresh mint leaves
    • 1 teaspoon dried mint

Mix all ingredients into a large pitcher and refrigerate overnight. Drink four or five glasses a day, starting with a glass before breakfast. In combination with a healthy diet and exercise, Sassy water has been credited with helping people lose up to 25 pounds according to Fitlife.tv.

Almost anyone can benefit from Sassy water, but there are some exceptions. The drink is not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers. People with gastrointestinal problems should avoid the drink, including people with GERD (mint, especially peppermint, can increase gastric reflux). And, of course, people with allergies to any of the ingredients should not drink Sassy water.
