Fresh Summer Drinks

Some of our favorite fresh summer non-alcoholic drink recipes include these great ones:

Hibiscus Mocktini

  • 3 cups hibiscus tea (such as Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger)
  • 3 cups ginger ale
  • 6 fresh pineapple spears

How to Make It:

Take a pitcher and mix the tea and ginger ale. Serve on ice in a tall glass, add a fresh pineapple spear for a garnish.

Ginger Beer

  • 4 lemons
  • 1 orange
  • 3/4 cup roughly chopped fresh ginger
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups orange juice
  • 4 cups sparkling water, chilled

How to Make It:

  • Grate two tablespoons of orange zest and lemon. Then squeeze 1/3 cup of lemon juice from three lemons. Put these aside.
  • Using your food processor, pulse mix the honey, sugar and ginger until it is just mixed. Then add the orange and lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Put this mixture into a large lidded container. Then add orange and lemon zests, as well as two cups of boiling water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Let cool to room temperature. Cover and put in the fridge for at least 24 hours.
  • To serve, strain the ginger-beer base into your pitcher. Slice remaining lemon and orange slices into circles. Add these slices and mineral water to your pitcher and stir. Serve on ice.

Ginger and Honey Iced Tea

  • 8 tea bags
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger

  • Take out the tea bags. Let tea cool to room temperature. Stir honey and ginger in, and put in fridge until ready to drive. Serve on ice.

Enjoy your refreshing cocktail, and the warmth and fun of summer.
