Fluoride In Nature
Fluorine is a natural trace element and exists in almost all soils. In elemental form fluorine is a flammable, irritating, and toxic halogen gas that is one of the most powerful oxidizing agents known. It therefore occurs naturally only in the reduced (fluoride, Fl-) form in combination with other minerals. Fluoride is classified as any binary compound of fluorine with another element. Fluoride compounds make up approximately 0.08 percent of the earth's crust. Fluorspar, cryolite, and fluorapatite are the most common fluoride producing compounds known. Fluorspar contains the highest percentage of fluoride by weight, as calcium fluoride (CaF2), of the minerals mentioned.
Fluoride In Drinking Water
Perhaps the most widely known use of fluoride is its addition to public drinking water supplies at about one milligram per liter (mg/L) of a fluoride salt, measured as fluoride, for the purpose of reducing tooth decay. This is achieved at the municipal treatment plant by injecting or feeding a solution of hydrofluosilicic acid, sodium silicofluoride, or sodium fluoride into the treated water stream. It is the fluoride ion in mineral ionic form that occurs in water, bones, teeth, and public drinking water supplies. About 144 million people it was estimated in 1992 drink fluoridated water at levels ranging from 0.7 to 1.2 mg/L.
Effects of Fluoride
Some water systems with naturally occurring fluoride must treat their water supply to remove the excess fluoride to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act limits. Children under nine years of age exposed to levels of fluoride greater than about two mg/L may develop a condition known as mottling or discoloration of the permanent teeth. In certain cases the teeth become chalky white in appearance. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has advised a secondary maximum contaminant level (SMCL) limit of two mg/L to protect against this aesthetic or cosmetic adversity from fluorides in drinking water. Further, federal regulations require that fluoride not exceed a concentration of four mg/L in drinking water. This is an enforceable maximum contaminant level (MCL) standard; it has been established to protect public health.
Exposure to drinking water levels above four mg/L for many years may result in cases of crippling skeletal fluorosis, which is a serious bone disorder resembling osteopetrosis and characterized by extreme density and hardness and abnormal fragility of the bones (sometimes called .marble bones..) When a community water system exceeds the MCL of four mg/L, it must notify each of its customers by issuing a public notice to those customers. This notice outlines the limitations and health effects from high fluoride levels in drinking water and points out home treatment systems and bottled water as possible drinking water source alternatives.

Many water filtration experts agree that down-flow systems often have channeling issues in the media making them less effective in filtering out chemicals in the water because the water is unable to reach the unexpired media.
Channeling is the process where small tunnels form in the media allowing water to flow in the same channel every time. Water always takes the path of least resistance. The Pelican Systems force the water in an Up-Flow direction up from the bottom of the tank in a swirling motion causing the carbon media to swirl. This motion allows the water to have maximum contact with the carbon media resulting in a very effective filtration process without the possibility of channeling. This is found to be the most effective design in whole house water filtration systems. |
Replacement Media Vs. Replacement Tank
It is important to understand how the carbon media inside the Pelican Fluoride Series Systems works; Adsorption: the process by which matter (chemicals) adheres to the surface areas of a solid adsorbent material (carbon media). In layman's terms the chemicals in your water are adsorbed into the carbon media on contact. The carbon media does not release any chemicals back into your water once they are adsorbed. We offer the replacement media as a more cost effective and environmentally friendly approach. When it comes time to replace the media, you are not throwing away a tank, fittings, or having to try and dispose of a complete system. Not to mention the cost of hiring a plumber to remove the old tank and install the new one.
Some companies are trying to discourage this process and use tactics to scare the consumer into thinking that they must buy a completely new system when the media expires; this is unnecessary and not very cost effective. The media is the fuel for the system (it's like the gas in your car). If you had to replace your car every time you ran out of gas that would be crazy, the same goes for the filtration system. The tanks and fittings are designed for this specific application. The cost of the system does not only include the media inside the tank, it includes many factors: the tank, fittings, media, and labor to build, shipping, advertising, and overhead. The media inside the tank is only part of the cost of a complete system therefore you cannot rate the effectiveness of the media based on the low cost to replace it.
The Pelican Fluoride Series Systems use an up-flow design and do not waste any water while filtering and softening/conditioning the water for your entire home. While other systems use a down-flow design requiring them to backwash once or twice a week wasting 100-300 gallons of water each time they backwash. The fact is that we cannot afford to waste one drop of water. Water is one the most important resources we have on earth.

Good Investment and Great water
We are very happy with our whole house water filter. Very simple to install with a qualified plumber and we never think about our water quality. While our city water was very good before, our ice maker produces clearer ice and we always feel clean after baths or showers. I don't usually write reviews but we are very happy with this purchase.

Great water filtration
These water systems are great! I have a deep water well that has a lot of iron and sulfur. Besides taking showers in rotten egg smell, the showers and toilets also got an orange film. I was looking for something to take care of my problems besides an expensive RO system. After looking around on the net for a bit I found pelican water. I purchased the whole house iron and manganese with chlorine injection and carbon filter. Not only taking care of my dirty, smelly water also at only one third the price of RO. The pelican service team has been very friendly in answering all my questions that I have had and solved all my problems easily.

whole house h2o system
My water comes from a deep (485 Ft.) well and when it rains extremely hard, sediment enters my home through the water
pipes. Because of this system I've saved a ton of money on
water filters for my refridgerator ice maker and water dispenser!

So far so good
I installed a PF6 and a PC1000. Simple straight forward process and the tech support at Pelican was most helpful. Water now smells and taste great and wife says her skin is much more comfortable. She was having problems with itching skin and no itch since we got the filters! When we water the garden and flowers, the plants really pop as if we just got a good rain. Chlorine free water will do that!!

GREAT SYSTEM
I choose to do the plumbing work myself and after some initial plumbing problems not associated with the PC1000, I was able to attach the PC1000 to my water lines and immediately I noticed a HUGE difference is the taste and, no chlorine smell which was consistant with my city's water supply. I had to run 1 inch pipe 35 feet to and from the PC1000 and I didn't notice any water pressure drop through out the house. It's a convenient and minimal maintenance system and in my opinion well worth the money I spent.

Major change in quality of life
We have had the P600 for a little over 3 years and have had excellent results. No chlorine, no harmful added chemicals, no germs or bacteria. Guests in our home always remark how wonderful our showers are. "Like taking a shower in spring water!!" There is no smell, the taste is excellent and we take care to replace the pre-filter often, etc. I even back flush it about once a years, just for the extra cleaning effect. We have communicated numerous times with company reps (purchase more pre-filter replacement, rings, etc) and have always received prompt, courteous and truthful information/service. We are adding a salt-free water conditioner from Pelican as it will get rid of calcium and scale. I wish I had gotten both to start with, they are the very best value available, in my opinion. Love my Filter and Tech Service
I have had my whole house water filter for 6 months and I wish I had not waited so long to purchase one. My water has never tasted so good and my skin is not longer dry. I tell everyone I know to buy one. It is a plus to know my family is consuming safe and chemical free drinking water.
I recently had to call tech support since my filter is located in my basement which flooded and I was concerned because the water covered part of my filter. I was reassured by Steve that the tank is totally sealed and I had nothing to be concerned about since nothing could get into the tank.

Why did I wait so long?

awesome system....

I have had this Carbon Series PC600/PC1000 for several years now and have had the media changed after three years. The cost of maintaining the system is reasonable. The performance is very satisfactory. Changing the media ( carbon material ) can be difficult for the home owner . I recommend having a certified professional change the media . It can be costly however it only has to be done every three to five years. Otherwise , we are extremely satisfied with this water filtration system.

Better Health
We love our PC1000 and have recommended and purchased it for several of our family members as well. People don't realize how toxic chlorine is to the body system (it kills all of your body's beneficial microorganisms, which is what gives you a good immune system) and how important clean water is for good health. Also, people don't realize that chlorine is constantly off gassing from your toilet water into your home environment every time you flush and then you breathe in the chlorine and it also kills your body's microorganisms that way. Since installing the system, my husband lost 15 pounds without doing anything different! We store toxins in our fat, so when our body starts to detoxify, our body doesn't have to hold on to extra fat anymore! Carbon & Fluoride Filter
Purchased this in January 2012 along with a Fluoride Filter. It is working great. I had a handy man install it and he had no problems. My house is on county water and when I first bought it I could smell Chlorine. I had well water previously and didn't want to drink the chlorine or fluoride so I had this installed and I can no longer smell chlorine. I'm very happy and Steve was great to work with answering all my crazy questions. My water pressure is good no change. Great product and I can drink water and feel like it is safe for me to drink and I don't have to buy bottled water.

Great Water
I am very pleased and satisfied with our Pelican filter. Our water source is the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, and despite having a clean and reliable water treatment facility, normal water treatment, chlorination and sand filtration can only do so much to correct the years of evil committed by numerous industries and individuals upstream. The water from the tap consistently had a subtle if not strong chlorine and chemical odor and taste. That is all gone now, thanks to our Pelican PC1000. There was an immediate noticeable difference in the taste and lack of discernible odor. New Water Filter
I just bought a new Pelican Whole House Carbon water filter and it is great. I compared the Pelican to the Aquasana Whole House water filter and another 5 stage whole house water filter system. The sellers of the 5 stage system never called me back like they said they would to answer my questions, so they were out of the running right away. The aquasana and the pelican are roughly the same price, but the total cost of ownership is much less for the pelican. After 5 years you have to replace the entire filter and housing with the aquasana, for a total cost of at least 500 dollars. Just 200 dollars shy of a new one. With the Pelican you can simply replace the filter for 140 dollars. A big cost savings. That is why I went with the Pelican. Water tastes great and we are drinking more of it.

Salt-Free Softener Parts
On February 22, 2013, I called Pelican to order a replacement big blue sump & head & a spanner wrench for prefilter. However, I didn't know the name of the parts at that time; but I tried to explain it to Patrick, and he knew exactly what I was wanting. His kind voice made me feel comfortable to ask questions about what my problem was & what I needed to fix it. 2 years of research
I did alot of research on water filters due to issues associated with other filters I purchased.
I performed a water test prior to my purchase and found no major issues though my water had a strange taste and left stains on all of my surfaces. I did a little research and found that there is alot of ground shells (clam - etc) in the ground water where I live.
For 2 years I have bought: pitcher, line and tap filters and they didnt last long or really help.
One of the sites that rated water filters gave Pelican a 5 star rating. So I decided to try one more filter and see if it helped. I found the cost a little high, though it was less than the others tested!
After 3 months of great tasting water, no stains, build up, clean clothes, I would highly recommend this product. If you are currently buying bottled water or thinking about it (thats where I was) look at the cost and see if this is a better solution!
I installed this myself and it only requires a minor degree of skill. A good point is to first look at your current configuration and see if you will need any special work, if so I would hire a plumber or someone that has the skills. A good plumbers guide would work also!

Whole House Water Filter
We lived in Mexico for many years and bought bottled water which was delivered to our house. Usually the delivery man would even put the five gallon bottle in a holder for us. We moved to Texas and looked forward to being able to drink directly from the faucet. However, we were disappointed because the water tasted so bad. Scott Stiltner, I want to thank you personally for the great service you gave us. I did install the system just as you and the instructions ask....and "yes" a woman could to do the instillation as well! Had no problems at all except for a little carbon that showed up in the tub and bowls, but that rinsed off easyly.
I can't stand the smell or even the idea of chlorine in my mouth or on my body. That's why I called Pelican. I did a web check on the "best whole house water filtration" and got your company as #1. That's all I needed. I just ordered it and didn't care about price although shocked at what the price really was,...very reasonable indeed.
I am dark skinned in the summer and oily. In the winter though the oil is gone and with the chlorinated water here,...I would littlerly wake at night scratching my legs until they bled. First thing I noticed was no itching and haven't since the filter. That in it's self is worth a bunch not to mention the bed sheet that won't get bloody. I've got great taste, no odor and feel safe with drinking the water again.

Excellent Product
I bought a house water purifier not only to drink clean water but to cook and bath with it as well. It is one thing to drink clean water but bathing and cooking with it is equally important. After one week of having the house purifier I noticed a considerable difference in my skin, (not so dry) and my hair. Installation is not rocket science and to replace the water filters every six months is easy as well. The customer service department for this product is helpful beyond my expectations. They are friendly and are there to help you with any problem or question you have. Even installation. On a scale of 1-10 I give this company a 12.

Nothing hiding in my water
Our city supplied water has alot of chlorine in it. After our house plants started dying we used a swimming pool chlorine test kit to find that there was about the same amount of chlorine in our drinking water as our swimming pool. Not any more. The Pelican PC1000 now delivers completely chlorine free water, as well as all other unwanted contaminates. One less cancer risk in our lives. Nothing beats filtered water. I reviewed many systems before purchasing this one and I couldn't be happier. We have had the Pelican filter for 5 years. Today I ordered a new media. We have been extremely pleased with the performance of this system. Water tastes better, cleans clothes better (no more odor!), cleans dishes and glasses better and leaves virtually no lime deposits in dishwasher.
I have also been impressed by your staff who are courteous and very knowledgeable about the products. My order today was placed by Mark who said he would be happy to speak with our plumber should he have any questions during installation. He also reminded me that purchasing a new media now gives us another 5 years performance warranty. In 5 years, I will receive an automatic email notice as a reminder to reorder the media. Almost 2 years have elapsed since our purchase. We thought we were consuming well filtered water from our local water company based on them publishing their test results. Love it!
Municipal water in our area has always been a concern to us. One of the visible effects was a pinkish ring around the toilet within 3-4 days of cleaning it! Water tasted bad, so we always bought bottled water. We could really could not cook with bottled water, so we had to use the municipal stuff. We never really thought about showering with this until we did some research on chlorinated water, and our decision was made! After months of research on filtration systems, we chose Pelican based not only on initial cost, but also on future costs, (very minimal), but also on what your system actually REMOVES from our water, yet keeping beneficial minerals in. Well, I'm happy to say that after three weeks with our new system we have NO PINK RINGS in the toilet anymore! Four years ago our family purchased the PC600 carbon filtration system!!!! Worth every penny!!!!! We are on well water and we have the best tasting water, plus our hair is nice and soft!!!! We are moving and decided not to include it in the price of home ! No way !!!!! ;) we are moving to a home with city water and love that we can easily un hook this and take it with!!!! Now all the yucky chlorine will be filtered!!!!! So my advice is Take it with You!!!!!!! You'll be happy you did!

King of the hill
I purchased this unit about a year ago. At 68 years old it was not that hard to install the unit and the necessary pvc pipes to accommodate. Well, I have not had a minutes trouble with the unit. No leaks. No nothing. If you are considering a system, put this at the top of the list. The price was great, and the delivery was fast. This unit is the king of the hill, and I have no reason to believe their are units are of any LESS quality. Now, stop reading and place that order.

Money Well Spent
I live in southern California where the water is hard at best. Just recently I purchased the Pelican Filter/Softener Combo and am already pleased with the results. In short – it is as good as advertised! The water in my home now smell & taste much better than it did previous to my purchase of the filter/softener and also better than the bottled water I have delivered to my home (which I will soon stop). It also feels better on my skin when showering and even when washing my hands. The soaps that I use now lathers more and whatever water spotting there is on glass or stainless steel – is easy to wipe away. Excellent Whole House Water Sytem
This is the best whole house system for your money. Our household has three bathrooms accommodating five sons, my wife and myself. I just purchased a home with well water and suspected the home's existing filter had not been touched in a long time. Removing it with my plumber confirmed that suspicion. Tremendous backup of stuff to clean out of the plumbing, but with the new system installed the water tastes great, looks much better, and the water pressure has risen at least 25%. I installed the PC1000 filter after completing the carbon tank soak & wash cycles. I was careful to keep large flows down as the instructions indicated. The house water hand some carbon dust in it for a few days after which the water was clear. The water tastes better now & we are completely satisfied with the filter. Incidentally, due to access for installing the filter after the irrigation connection, It is installed so that all water, including irrigation passes through the filter. This should not be problem since our total water usage is nominally 100,000 gallons per year. I am also pleased with the advice I get from your rep. Mark

Simply The Best
I have owned a pc1000 filtration system for just over one year and couldn't be more pleased. I had some down time recently changing out the sediment filter (while I located the O rings) and had to resort to city and bottled water. You don't realize how amazing this system is until you go back to the other water. What really surprised me was how terrible the bottled water tasted after getting use to my system. Unbelievable! And what a difference it makes when taking a shower. I love the fact that it is a whole house filtration system; no worries of chlorimines from the shower, or evaporation from the toilet and peace of mind when watering the garden, which by the way has taken off like mad since I've used the filtered water. Best Option

Pelican is number one
I have a Master Degree in Business and it one that it taught me is to research and research I did in fact I did almost 40 hours of research in to whole house water systems and found many very lacking and much more expensive, so it was a no brainer to go with Pelican who makes flat out the best system on the planet and a generation or two over other brands. One thing I noticed is to how well it works, my roommate just moved in and after showering she felt itchy after showing here, As she moved from a well water to the city water and once I got the unit installed she noticed it was no longer an issue.
Plus I save in the long run,
As while it expensive to get and install it will pay itself off in ten years compared to replacing my old duel under sinks units which are wearing out after 20 years as there filters are kind of pricy and only cover drinking water so a great deal for also covering showers and the delay getting filter water to cook with plus the labor changing out the filters every 6-9 months
(I found long ago the one carbon under sink filter was lacking)
And the no maintenance is a huge perk for 5 years and the a little work replacing the media for 150 for every 5 years more as the unit has a life time warranty.
My next purchase will be the whole house water softener then the fluoride filter as the last

Best Filtration System with Good Support
Though water in our area does not have any issue, Pelican filtration system that we've installed for about a month does give us cleaner and better water. And it tastes fresher, too.
Instruction on web and support from customer service are fast and precise that help me to install it myself without hesitance. Delivery is free but quick and the price is affordable.
Tank, however, is hard to move around with water due to having nothing to get a hold of, especially when lifting it up and over something. But this minor issue won't stop me from grading Pelican Water Filtration System as the best thing that I've ever done on my home project. Thanks!

Big Improvement

Lake water
My husband and I so enjoy living on a lake but in the midst of a drought and extremely low water levels, we were not sure if the benefits out weighed the nasty situation we were dealing with. Our water had turned dark brown! Ofcourse we could not use it for drinking or cooking, bathing did not leave us feeling clean and our clothes were stained. The Pelican water system was a life saver.

Great tasting water

PELICAN KEEP FLYING HIGH
i bought the PC600 whole house filter and waited 8 months to write a review. i search the internet for a while before i made the purchase. Pelican had the best price and customer service and i desided to buy from them. so far after 8 months the filter works just the way they said it would. i'm on well water, never had a filter before(there was no broblem with the water) but i desided to put a filter in and right after the installetion we notice the difference.great product, great fast service all around

We absolutely love it
We have owned our Whole house system for about 3 years and absolutely love it. We had a break in the water line that caused mud to enter into the system...(prefilter) ...during the time we had it off for cleaning we were force to drink regular tap water. YUCK....the clorine taste and smell is horrible. Would not be without it.

We are completely satisfied with the Pelican PC600 Premium Whole House Water filtration system we purchased in February of 2011. After a lot of hours of researching & reading, we decided on the Pelican products. We definitely made an excellent choice!
The main reason we decided to purchase a whole house filtration system was that the local water agency started fluoridating the water and it affected our skin horribly (rashes, blisters, etc.). Within the first week of using the Pelican whole house filtration system our skin problems disappeared and we now have very high-quality water. Thanks so much!
We will definitely be ordering the carbon refills in a few years and would recommend this product to anyone interested in improving the quality of their water.

Unbelievable results
I bought my PC600 filter system because the water from our town seemed to have a bit of an unpleasant odor and when we used our dishwasher sometimes the dishes would smell funny. 3 months after installation I decided to change the prefilter. Not because I noticed a problem with the water quality but I was just curious to see how clogged the filter would be. What I found was absolutely unbelievable, the used filter looked like a spent car oil filter. It was black and covered in thick greasy tar. I absolutely shudder to think I was drinking water from the tap before I purchased this water filter.
I will never own another house without this system installed.

Great product!
I purchased a PC600 carbon whole house system back in 2007 and I continue to be thoroughly pleased with the terrific performance - i installed the unit myself - clear instructions, easy to install - at the point where city water line enters my basement, so all of the water we use is filtered by the PC600. I no longer worry about chlorine in my shower, when i water my gardn and house plants, or when my friends simply want a cold clear freshing glass of water. It tastes just it came straight forom a mountain spring!
I investigated many other filtratio systems and the Pelican products simply blow the competition away! Best product for the price anywhere.

I could do it!
I purchased the PC1000 about a year ago. I installed myself, which was pretty easy. Had to make one call for tech support..and found out I was doing it right, and what I was seeing during the intial purge was to be expected. All in all, went in easy...and a year later, I am still impressed!! This is a great system!! Before, had strong chlorine odor, and and other undersirable things going on with the city water...now, I have the best water I have ever had. Anyone who is considering this unit should not think twice...it does a fantastic job and is a great product!!

Great product
Living here in the desert of Las Vegas,NV. the water is the most hardest water in the country. I was looking for a product to tackle that problem and I have found the answer with Pelican. I have had my unit for a little over 2 years now and I have been more than satisfied with the Pelican PC 600 and softener. I was waiting years for a company to make a energy efficient product and then Pelican came into my life and into my home. Delighted
I purchased my PC600 3 years ago and have been extremely pleased with its performance. Prior to installing the PC600 when I filled my fish pond I had to add chemicals to remove the chlorine because our county water contains so much clorine that it will kill the fish. I proved that when I accidently left the water running one day without adding the chlorine remover. All the fish died. Now I can add all the water I want without adding any chemicals.
Also, each time I change the prefilter, it is the color of weak coffee with a lot of sediment in it. It is very nasty looking.
Today I ordered a Natursoft NS3. If it works only half as well as the filter does I will still be delighted.

Clear Water!
I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and my water was brown. My wife would fill up the bath tub for our kids and it looked like they had already taken one after playing in the yard. I didn't want to drink the water although our company says "it's safe". Long story short, I installed the PC600 today (4 bed/ 2 1/2 bath ) 31 May 2011 and my water is clear. I even did the bath tub test! Fortunately, the system requires no electric. My water line is opposite my garage and required an in ground installation. For those interested I will be posting my pictures later, although Pelican has a few from someone else. Also, we have poor water pressure ...around 34psi and I didn't notice a difference when I took my first clear water shower. For an in-ground installation you will need some culvert ( black plastic stuff that usually runs under driveways with a ditch 10"+ x 5') a saws-all too cut it and two good sized water meter covers (Ace hardware had them). I also used some scrap 2 x 6 to make box around the culvert since it is round and the meter was rectangular. Note: this type of installation should only be used where the ground does not freeze! One more thing, I wasn't going for pretty for anything below the top of the meter. Some scrap wood/screws and great stuff gap filler seemed to do the trick! Cheers!

I rarely review or comment on products, but decided to make an exception. I purchased my PC1000 just over a month ago due to our city water and its heavy chlorine smell and taste. It smelled, felt, and tasted like swimming pool water. It was no fun to drink or bathe in, to say the least. When company came to our house, we only served bottled water. Even the dog was drinking bottled water!
I finally decided that it was time to do something and in doing research, came across Pelican Water. I read as much as I could find and finally decided to take the plunge. When the filter arrived (then next day I might add!) I was excited to get it installed. The hardest part was waiting the 48 hours for the pre-soak to complete. I actually did the install myself.
We now have awesome water throughout the entire house. It tastes and smells great! If I gave you 2 glasses of water, one bottled and one tap, I do not believe that you could tell which is which. We are extremely happy customers! So far I am unhappy with only one thing – that I waited so long to get this filter! I know that this may sound like an advertisement or something, but it is not. I am just a VERY happy customer!

Excellent Product
I searched whole house water filters for almost 2 months...what most people dont think about is what is the total operating cost for 5 years? Some filters are expensive up front, or in the back end. Overall, through countless hours of research, I decided to go with the Pelican filter. I installed it this weekend...it was packaged and works exactly as expected. My husband and I purchased the PC1000 Whole House Water Filter back in February 2010. We had some installation issues, however, the company made themselves available to us throughout the entire process. I have never had an experience with a company's customer service as great as theirs. They were phenomenal. Their product has also been amazing! Several months up and running, and it is still fantastic. The water is softer. I wash my hair and it isn't dry anymore, my daughter's eczema has seen a significant improvement, and of course the water tastes great. I built a new house in West Hempstead, New York. I did not like the taste of the tap water in the area, and decided to purchase the PC1000. I researched other "whole house" filters, and yours seemed to be the most cost-efficient. You also provided a good deal of information on your web site, which helped in my decision making process. I purchased the unit over a year ago, but due to construction delays, etc, did not get it in-line until about 3 months ago. The bottom line is that I was a bit skeptical at first whether I would really see that much of a difference with the filter installed, and boy was I wrong. The taste of the water greatly improved after the installation. I didn't anticipate, however, that I would be able to "see" the difference. The pink rings around the sink downspouts and toiled bowls (from the rust in the unfiltered water) were now also gone. Great Product....
Recently purchased your pc600 water filter and finished installing it last week. Our regular tap water had a strange "industrial" flavor which made everyone in the family gag. We've had the filter in place now for a couple of days and are extremely pleased with it. It completely eliminated the bad taste and now our tap water is virtually indistinguishable from bottled spring water. Congratulations on making a good product at a reasonable price!

Enjoying our Pelican System
We are thoroughly enjoying our Pelican system. We expect it to pay for itself relatively quickly, as we immediately stopped buying bottled water. Our showers also now are much more enjoyable and "feel" better. This is a great product, and I am amazed at how long the charcoal will last. The pre-filter changes are simple and not onerous. Installation was not particularly expensive, either.
All in all, a wonderful decision. It's hard to imagine going back now. There is nothing like the freedom of simply turning the tap and getting great-tasting, safe water.

Really Love It..
We really love our new whole house water filter. It has made such a difference! No more chlorine smell or other chemical smell or taste in the shower or the sink. The water is crystal clear and tastes great! I grew up in Mt Shasta, CA and our water came from an artesian well that was pure snow runoff from the mountain. It was the purest, best water I have ever tasted! Now that we have your filter system, yours actually comes close. It was easy to install and even easier to operate. I really like the fact that I won’t have to change the filter for 6 months, and won’t have to change the charcoal in the main unit for 1,000,000 gallons. That is just Awesome!!! Softer skin and clothes
I installed a whole house water-filter in 2007. I have noticed that my clothes are softer and the color stay better since much of the chlorine is removed. By removing the chlorine my skin is not as dry as it used to be. I had to use a lot of lotion during the winter, not so much anymore. Everything from ice-cubes to cooking is better now.
I recommend getting one for everyone

Water Quality aside, Our 5 year old boys recently had a required blood analysis done and the Doctors, while reviewing the results, asked if we were using bottled water because the normal levels of contaminants in my kids blood was so low. I said no, but I didn't think about my 3.5 year old Pelican 600 at the time. The thought that overcame me was that I didn't have to worry about their drinking water, their showers, or their inflatable swimming pool. I do the pre-filter change at the prescribed intervals, that's it. In DC trust can be a challenge, I'm just amazed that all this while WaterFilterUSA and Pelican have been covering my back.

Easy Installation
We recently purchased a PC600 system for our home and we are completely satisfied with it. The installation was pretty easy for a non-plumber. Had to purchase a couple of things to complete the job, due to our house plumbing. We now drink our tap water and it tastes as good as any bottled water. We would recommend this product to anyone. Saved Me A Fortune..
I have a problem with ground water getting into my well. The well experts said I needed to drill a new well to the cost of about $6000 dollars. I decided to put in your water filter system in my house and retested my water. Today I got back my results and they said my water is safe for drinking. Good Decision for Us
We have a natural health business that provides cleansing support known as colonics. Our water quality is very important to us. We already had two layers of filtration but wanted a whole house filter for the office (so now we have 4 layers of filtration). Research indicated the Pelican 600 system was the best filtration to meet our needs for the price. We installed May 10 and have noticed a difference in the results for our clients, which has happened every time we improve water quality. Pelican PC600 Carbon System
I have to be the first to tell you that "WOW" what a difference our new Pelican 600 system makes. We had it installed on Monday and we are amazed at how clean the water is and how it feels to bath in. I never thought you would feel so clean after bathing in filtered water. Before we installed the system you could actually smell the water that was coming out the shower heads and kitchen sink faucets. We always were buying bottled water for our drinking and cooking needs. We have two beautiful Golden Retrievers and we gave them bottled water as well to drink. What a huge savings we have with not buying bottled water any longer. My wife and I also notice how much cleaner our clothes are when she takes the clothes out of the washer. You can even feel how much cleaner the clothes are when you put them on. This goes for the dishwasher as well. It.s amazing how much filth and chemical are in our city water. Now with all the news about the pharmaceuticals that they are finding in the city water that you drink makes me thankful that we had the system installed. This system will pay for it self in less than a year. Besides saving money I think I saved our health as well. I didn.t realize that your body actually will absorb the chlorine and other chemicals that are in the water. No longer in my house hold. Thanks again for educating me and selling us our whole house filtering system. I am going to recommend Pelican to all my close friends.

Pelican PC600
I just want to say thank you so much for a wonderful product - I bought your big whole house system - my water no longer smells of chlorine and I got the shock of my absolute life when I changed the pre-filter 4 months after installation - here with a pic of a new cartridge and the one I removed after 4 months of filtering - it was absolutely full of sediment - I couldn't believe my eyes - I thought something was wrong but no it is just the dirt coming out the water - literally. It is so wonderful knowing that from every single faucet in my house comes clean water - whether it is for drinking or bathing or cleaning etc. Thank you for a wonderful product and for customer service that is better than any I have ever received in the USA. You should win a prize for both.

The Pelican Fluoride Series Filtration System is a Point-of-Entry (POE) system, or whole-house/whole home system, and is usually installed in your garage, basement, or water heater closet. Approximately every 6 to 9 months, depending upon the actual amount of sediment or particulate matter present in your water supply. The pre-filter starts off white in color so it is easy to see when the pre-filter is dirty by looking at the color of it.
